Botanical Garden Pirámides de Güímar

In May 2017, the Ibero-Macaronesian Association of Botanical Gardens (AIMJB) unanimously approved the inclusion of the Ethnographic Park Pirámides de Güímar as a collaborating partner, after assessing that the requirements to be considered a Botanical Garden were met. Among other requirements, the Park has several plant collections duly organized for consultation, visit and recognition. In addition, these plant collections have been developed following scientific, cultural and educational objectives of conservation.

The objectives of Pirámides de Güímar as a Botanical Garden will be the following:

  • Conservation of the Natural and Cultural Heritage of the environment
  • Environmental Education and Training for Sustainability
  • Botanical Research
  • Scientific promotion to the Society on Natural and Cultural Heritage

On the other hand, the Botanical Garden Pirámides de Güímar is committed to maintain an exchange of plant material and information for scientific purposes with national and international institutions, with a special relationship with the Canarian Botanical Gardens. For this, it has signed a Collaboration Agreement with the University of La Laguna.
