In May 2017, the Ibero-Macaronesian Association of Botanical Gardens (AIMJB) unanimously approved the inclusion of the Ethnographic Park Pirámides de Güímar as a collaborating partner, after assessing that the requirements to be considered a Botanical Garden were met. Among other requirements, the Park has several plant collections duly organized for consultation, visit and recognition. In addition, these plant collections have been developed following scientific, cultural and educational objectives of conservation.

On the other hand, the Botanical Garden Pirámides de Güímar is committed to maintain an exchange of plant material and information for scientific purposes with national and international institutions, with a special relationship with the Canarian Botanical Gardens. For this, it has signed a Collaboration Agreement with the University of La Laguna.

Since 2020 the Pirámides de Güímar Botanical Garden participates in REDBAG, the Spanish Network of Seed Banks. This participation allows networking between banks of genetic and biological material, and develops mechanisms for information exchange and coordination between botanical gardens.
